OCTOBER 2020 cattails

Dear All,

THE OCTOBER 2020 ISSUE OF CATTAILS, the bi-annual journal of the United Haiku and Tanka Society is now online on the UHTS website:

This issue features haiga, haiku, senryu, tanka and haibun by 203 poets from around the world. It also contains photographs of butterflies by Debbie Strange.

The next issue is April 2021. Submissions open: 1st February (midnight) GMT and close: 28th February (midnight) GMT.) For further details please check the submission guidelines:

This issue is a testimony of your indomitable spirit in these difficult times. Thank you for entrusting us with your work.

Erin Castaldi
Secretary UHTS

If I feel stuck and unable to write I generally do a combination of things as one method on its own doesn’t seem to work.

A productive haiku day for me involves getting outdoors for a walk or kayak, reading haiku and reminiscing about past experiences (not necessarily in that order). Reminiscing in particular has helped this year because the virus has limited opportunities to travel and socialise.

FYI, the link is to last year's contest rules ... this year's contest has not yet been posted.

Thanks for alerting me to that, Sandra. I can't delete it so I've just featured the winners! :)
